SEPTEMBER 14 (Saturday AM)
-
Focus on Hear
Leader:
Julianna Raye
Type of Program:
Core Curriculum
Emphasis:
Foundations
Prerequisites: No
previous experience necessary.
Description:
Learn how to work with all 4 themes of auditory experience,
mental talk, external sound, auditory rest, and auditory
flow. This technique trains you to appreciate the entire
auditory system as it ranges over the various states of
inner activation, outer activation, rest, and flow. Focusing
exclusively on auditory states for a while tends to create a
merging of subjective and objective hearing, leading to the
oneness of inside and outside.
Reading:
In
preparation for this program, please read from Shinzen’s manual “Five
Ways to Know Yourself”: Also skim the
About Posture article regarding options for posture (if
you haven’t done so already).
Fee:
$20 per person (This
fee does not include charges, if any, by your long distance
phone service.)
SEPTEMBER 14 (Saturday PM)
- Focus Out
Leader:
Chris Trani
Type of Program:
Core Curriculum
Emphasis:
Foundations
Prerequisites: No
previous experience necessary.
Description:
Learn how to focus on physical sights, physical
sounds, and physical body sensations. In daily life, we are
constantly looking, listening, and moving the body. The
Focus Out technique will allow you to stay deep and anchored
even while going about complex activities such as driving,
working, or talking to people. It’s a systematic and
tangible way to experience the Power of Now.
