About Prerequisites

Each program description includes any prerequisites to participation based on the level of experience needed. These usually depend on the focus methods used or the specific emphasis of a program.

Familiarity: In the context of prerequisites for a program, having "familiarity" with a procedure means that you have practiced it before, either in a phone-based "Foundations" retreat or on some other occasion such as an Onsite retreat, class or private session with Shinzen Young or one of his facilitators.
